Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B
ValueC NeedB- TradesB+ FutureA+
A solid, sensible weekend for the Dolphins: B.

The Dolphins went off the board in a big way for Micah Morris, 78 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick43 Rnd2 Gabe Jacas
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Gabe Jacas. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick57 Rnd2 Chase Bisontis
A reach for Chase Bisontis in the Round 2 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick70 Rnd3 Keionte Scott
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Keionte Scott at No. 70 is the proof. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick75 Rnd3 Connor Lew
Connor Lew is a better player than pick 75 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick84 Rnd3 Devin Moore
They paid sticker price for Devin Moore in pick No. 84, and that is fine. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick87 Rnd3 Jacob Rodriguez
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jacob Rodriguez at the 87th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick90 Rnd3 Dametrious Crownover
A big swing on Dametrious Crownover at the 90th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick91 Rnd3 Isaiah World
Isaiah World at slot 91 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick107 Rnd4 Michael Trigg
They did well to land Michael Trigg in Round 4, Pick 7, just ahead of his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick111 Rnd4 Mike Washington Jr.
Mike Washington Jr. in pick 111 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick152 Rnd5 Drew Allar
They read the board right and Drew Allar was the payoff at No. 152. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick154 Rnd5 Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson at the 154th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick162 Rnd5 Marlin Klein
Marlin Klein at the Round 5 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick168 Rnd5 Ted Hurst
By-the-book stuff, Ted Hurst at pick No. 168 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick201 Rnd6 Zxavian Harris
A wild overpay on Zxavian Harris in the 201st overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick220 Rnd7 Jeff Caldwell
No drama and no debate, Jeff Caldwell went about where he belonged in No. 220. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick221 Rnd7 Charles Demmings
They went early on Charles Demmings in Round 7, Pick 5, and the value did not follow. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick227 Rnd7 Logan Taylor
They reached a country mile for Logan Taylor at pick No. 227, and the board is aghast. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick230 Rnd7 Joshua Braun
A real head-scratcher, Joshua Braun in slot 230 is miles ahead of his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick238 Rnd7 Nolan Rucci
Nolan Rucci at the 238th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick253 Rnd7 Micah Morris
Micah Morris at the Round 7 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
