Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesC FutureA+
Best value of the weekend goes to the Dolphins for Scott: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Dolphins were there to profit. Keionte Scott, the No. 62 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 87th overall pick. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Rucci pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Chris Brazzell II
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick43 Rnd2 Zion Young
They took Zion Young at par in the 43rd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick75 Rnd3 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Taking Emmanuel McNeil-Warren in pick 75 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick87 Rnd3 Keionte Scott
They will replay Keionte Scott at Round 3, Pick 23 for years; that is how good the value is. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick94 Rnd3 Sam Hecht
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Sam Hecht in No. 94. The roster fit checks out.
Pick95 Rnd3 Nicholas Singleton
No edge and no loss on Nicholas Singleton in pick No. 95; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick111 Rnd4 Harold Perkins Jr.
They jumped the gun on Harold Perkins Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick125 Rnd4 Eli Raridon
Eli Raridon at the 125th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
Pick147 Rnd5 Beau Stephens
Beau Stephens at the 147th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick149 Rnd5 Drew Allar
Drew Allar in Round 5, Pick 11 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick227 Rnd7 Jeff Caldwell
A tidy little value on Jeff Caldwell in slot 227, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick239 Rnd7 Charles Demmings
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Charles Demmings. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick246 Rnd7 Nolan Rucci
Nolan Rucci at the Round 7 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick248 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
They paid sticker price for Trey Zuhn III in the 248th pick, and that is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
