A sensible, unshowy class lands the Dolphins a B+.

The Dolphins clearly saw something nobody else did in Riley Mahlman, taking him 45 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.

They banked enough surplus on Scott to cover a lot of smaller sins. With edge rusher, running back and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.

The Dolphins paired the rookies with proven help, Alohi Gilman leading the way.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
