The Dolphins clearly saw something nobody else did in Daevin Hobbs, taking him 42 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. With edge rusher unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them.

They banked enough surplus on Stowers to cover a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
