The tape said wait; the Dolphins did not. Marvin Jones Jr. went at No. 246, a good 92 picks before the board was ready. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

Getting Stowers where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
