Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA- FutureA+
Best value of the weekend goes to the Dolphins for Scott: B+.

Call it larceny. Keionte Scott sat on the board until pick 90, and the Dolphins did not need to be asked twice. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

Every board in the league had Cooper Jr. lower, and that gap is the story. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

The Teven Jenkins pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Sonny Styles
In No. 24 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Omar Cooper Jr.
Omar Cooper Jr. at slot 43 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick75 Rnd3 Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch slipping to the Round 3 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick87 Rnd3 Nicholas Singleton
They went early on Nicholas Singleton in Round 3, Pick 23, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick90 Rnd3 Keionte Scott
They barely believed it either: Keionte Scott still on the board at pick No. 90. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick111 Rnd4 Michael Trigg
Michael Trigg at pick 111 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick149 Rnd5 Drew Allar
Good price on Drew Allar in the 149th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick227 Rnd7 Jeff Caldwell
Nothing to complain about; Jeff Caldwell went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
