The Dolphins put a flag in the ground for Kamran James, 94 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Scott falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
