Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Dolphins a A-.

Whoever sat across the table from the Dolphins should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.

Spending an early pick on cornerback with interior defensive lineman, tight end and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

The Muhammad steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Reaching for Jagusah left real value on the table behind him.

The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.

Pick Analysis
Pick75 Rnd3 Malachi Fields
Malachi Fields at pick 75 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick87 Rnd3 Malik Muhammad
Malik Muhammad in No. 87 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick111 Rnd4 Caden Curry
A tidy little value on Caden Curry in the 111th overall pick, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick112 Rnd4 Tacario Davis
They bypassed pressing needs at interior defensive lineman, tight end and other spots to take Tacario Davis, a cornerback that was not the priority.
Pick149 Rnd5 Drew Allar
Drew Allar is a better player than pick No. 149 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick150 Rnd5 Domani Jackson
They did well to land Domani Jackson in the Round 5 slot, just ahead of his grade. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick166 Rnd5 Nadame Tucker
Fair-plus on Nadame Tucker, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick177 Rnd5 Charles Jagusah
Charles Jagusah in Round 5, Pick 39 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick215 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in the Round 6 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick220 Rnd7 Tristan Leigh
Tristan Leigh at pick 220 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick227 Rnd7 Hykeem Williams
Hykeem Williams at Round 7, Pick 11 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
