You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Dolphins did exactly that with Marvin Jones Jr. in pick 227. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

The Hill Jr. pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
