Vince009 DRAFTING FOR THEDolphins

Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall
B
ValueB-

FutureA+
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Dolphins: B. There is conviction, and then there is this. The Dolphins took DeMonte Capehart a full 49 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Landing Green that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
The Jaquan Brisker pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick45
Rnd2
Garrett Nussmeier
A reasonable price with a little left over, Garrett Nussmeier in Round 2, Pick 13. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick46
Rnd2
Olaivavega Ioane
Olaivavega Ioane in pick No. 46 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick83
Rnd3
A.J. Haulcy
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing A.J. Haulcy in the Round 3 slot. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick96
Rnd3
C.J. Fite
A reach for C.J. Fite in the 96th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick107
Rnd4
DeMonte Capehart
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for DeMonte Capehart. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick112
Rnd4
Chandler Rivers
You do not let a cornerback like Chandler Rivers reach No. 112 and blink. They did not. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick154
Rnd5
Justin Joly
Justin Joly at pick 154 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The roster fit checks out.
Pick176
Rnd5
Aamil Wagner
No drama and no debate, Aamil Wagner went about where he belonged in Round 5, Pick 36. It fills a real need, too.
Pick198
Rnd6
CJ Daniels
Somehow CJ Daniels was still sitting there in the Round 6 slot, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick227
Rnd7
Taylen Green
Circle this one: Taylen Green at the 227th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick257
Rnd7
Ricardo Hallman
Ricardo Hallman at No. 257 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
