You can draft well and still miss the point. The Commanders did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

On value alone, Pearce Jr. makes the weekend a net positive. On the needs board they went 1 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
