The war room fell hard for Hayden Conner, and it showed at slot 234: 36 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Campbell pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
