FutureC
The Seahawks lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story. The war room fell hard for Hayden Conner, and it showed at slot 234: 36 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Campbell pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Will Campbell
Fair-plus on Will Campbell, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick13
Rnd1
Omarion Hampton
In pick No. 13 they get an every-down engine for the run game, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick31
Rnd1
Luther Burden III
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a difference-maker at receiver, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Colston Loveland
The board had Colston Loveland higher than No. 39, and the tight end fell to them anyway. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick56
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at pick 56 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick62
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Steal is underselling it; Jihaad Campbell at the 62nd pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick63
Rnd2
Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick82
Rnd3
Savion Williams
Savion Williams at pick No. 82 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick95
Rnd3
Charles Grant
Charles Grant at pick 95 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick115
Rnd4
Tyler Shough
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tyler Shough at No. 115 is the proof. The roster fit checks out.
Pick172
Rnd5
Jack Kiser
A conviction pick on Jack Kiser at the 172nd overall pick that the board grades a round light. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jalen Rivers
Jalen Rivers at Round 5, Pick 37 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick223
Rnd7
Caleb Ransaw
A slide stopped in slot 223, with Caleb Ransaw worth more than the price. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick234
Rnd7
Hayden Conner
They left a pile of value on the table to take Hayden Conner this early at the 234th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
