The Seahawks finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a F. The Seahawks put a flag in the ground for Hayden Conner, 36 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The whole projection now runs through Jaxson Dart; hit there and everything else looks smarter.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Membou.
Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
There is no soft landing here; this class has to massively overperform just to matter.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Grey Zabel
A conviction pick on Grey Zabel at the Round 1 slot that the board grades a round light. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick30
Rnd1
Jaxson Dart
In slot 30 they get the arm they will build around, reach and all.
Pick39
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
They went early on Jayden Higgins in pick No. 39, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick41
Rnd2
Armand Membou
Steal is underselling it; Armand Membou at No. 41 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick56
Rnd2
Carson Schwesinger
Carson Schwesinger at Round 2, Pick 24 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick62
Rnd2
Mason Taylor
A premium they did not need to pay, Mason Taylor a notch or two before his time. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick82
Rnd3
Ashton Gillotte
Ashton Gillotte at No. 82 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick92
Rnd3
Savion Williams
Savion Williams at the 92nd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick137
Rnd4
Dorian Strong
A slide stopped in pick No. 137, with Dorian Strong worth more than the price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick172
Rnd5
Seth McLaughlin
Seth McLaughlin in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick175
Rnd5
DJ Giddens
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on DJ Giddens. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick223
Rnd7
Jason Marshall Jr.
Nice patience on Jason Marshall Jr., who had no business lasting to pick 223. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick234
Rnd7
Hayden Conner
Value said wait; Hayden Conner in Round 7, Pick 18 says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
