Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D+
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Packers to a D+.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Packers took Elijah Roberts a full 76 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Lambert-Smith at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Tetairoa McMillan
In No. 24 they get a difference-maker at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick46 Rnd2 Trey Amos
A straight-up fair deal on Trey Amos at Round 2, Pick 14, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick54 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
They paid sticker price for Jayden Higgins in the 54th overall pick, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick70 Rnd3 Maxwell Hairston
They did well to land Maxwell Hairston in slot 70, just ahead of his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick87 Rnd3 Charles Grant
By-the-book stuff, Charles Grant at the 87th pick squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick107 Rnd4 Elijah Roberts
A big swing on Elijah Roberts at the Round 4 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick118 Rnd4 Jordan Phillips
A quiet steal in the 118th pick: Jordan Phillips for less than the market said. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick124 Rnd4 Zy Alexander
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Zy Alexander at pick No. 124 is the proof. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick139 Rnd5 Jackson Slater
They paid up for Jackson Slater at the Round 5 slot when waiting would have done the job. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick159 Rnd5 Jay Higgins
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jay Higgins well ahead of where he belonged. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick198 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
They took Oronde Gadsden II at par in slot 198, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick237 Rnd7 Tahj Brooks
They barely believed it either: Tahj Brooks still on the board at No. 237. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick250 Rnd7 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
A wide receiver of that caliber at Round 7, Pick 34 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
