Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B-. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Bears' quarterback, full stop. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The Beebe pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In No. 1 they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick9
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In pick No. 9 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick75
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 75 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick122
Rnd4
Tyler Davis
They paid sticker price for Tyler Davis in the 122nd overall pick, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
