Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for Williams: B+.

The Packers ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

Landing Williams that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They will answer for taking safety early while quarterback, tight end and other spots went begging.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick33 Rnd2 Chop Robinson
No drama and no debate, Chop Robinson went about where he belonged in pick No. 33. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick51 Rnd2 Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock at the 51st overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick57 Rnd2 Jonah Elliss
Jonah Elliss in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick78 Rnd3 Trey Benson
Trey Benson in slot 78 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
