Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Bills cashed the board's mistake on Robertson: B+.

The real work happened on the phones. The Bills fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

Getting Robertson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

The Justin Strnad pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
You do not let a linebacker like Arvell Reese reach Round 1, Pick 32 and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick55 Rnd2 Nyck Harbor
No edge and no loss on Nyck Harbor in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick64 Rnd2 A'Mauri Washington
They paid sticker price for A'Mauri Washington in slot 64, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick88 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing A.J. Haulcy in the 88th pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick123 Rnd4 Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch at No. 123 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick164 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Davison Igbinosun. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick221 Rnd7 Sawyer Robertson
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, Sawyer Robertson in the 221st pick, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick230 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
No drama and no debate, Trey Zuhn III went about where he belonged in slot 230. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick257 Rnd7 Lawson Luckie
Lawson Luckie in the 257th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
