Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B- to prove it. The Packers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the Round 7 slot on Jordan Davis a full 107 spots early.
However the rest shakes out, Schrader at that price is a win they earned. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick41
Rnd2
Kool-Aid McKinstry
Kool-Aid McKinstry in pick No. 41 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick42
Rnd2
Kingsley Suamataia
A big swing on Kingsley Suamataia at Round 2, Pick 10, well ahead of any board in the building. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick58
Rnd2
Jaden Hicks
They reached into another round for Jaden Hicks, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick88
Rnd3
Dominick Puni
No edge and no loss on Dominick Puni in pick 88; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick90
Rnd3
MarShawn Lloyd
They paid sticker price for MarShawn Lloyd in No. 90, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick91
Rnd3
Elijah Jones
Elijah Jones at the 91st overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick126
Rnd4
Nathaniel Watson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Nathaniel Watson this early at the 126th overall pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick127
Rnd4
Sataoa Laumea
They let Sataoa Laumea come to them and pounced at the Round 4 slot. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick131
Rnd4
Michael Pratt
Michael Pratt in No. 131 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick202
Rnd6
Cody Schrader
They will replay Cody Schrader at slot 202 for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick219
Rnd6
Dominique Hampton
They liked Dominique Hampton enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 219. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick245
Rnd7
Brevyn Spann-Ford
Brevyn Spann-Ford in Round 7, Pick 25 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick255
Rnd7
Jordan Davis
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jordan Davis. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
