Draft Grade — Bears
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureA-
The Bears answered their biggest question with Williams. Grade: D.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Bears did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The Gray pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the Round 1 slot they get their quarterback of the future at fair value.
Pick14 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In slot 14 they get a go-to option on the outside. A real need, handled.
Pick43 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
Good price on Chris Braswell in pick No. 43, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick75 Rnd3 Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier in the 75th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick110 Rnd4 Dominick Puni
A slide stopped in the 110th overall pick, with Dominick Puni worth more than the price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick127 Rnd4 Cam Hart
Nothing to complain about; Cam Hart went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick146 Rnd5 Jaden Hicks
Somehow Jaden Hicks was still sitting there in Round 5, Pick 10, and they pounced on premier safety value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick186 Rnd6 Kaden Prather
They read the board right and Kaden Prather was the payoff at pick 186. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick232 Rnd7 Joshua Gray
Joshua Gray at the 232nd pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
