Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

ValueB

TradesF
FutureB-
The Bears drew a line under the quarterback search with Daniels: D-. The Bears lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.
The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
The Randolph Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. However the rest shakes out, Paul at that price is a win they earned.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
Marvin Harrison Jr. in pick 1 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick9
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
They took Jayden Daniels at par in pick No. 9, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick43
Rnd2
Bralen Trice
Nothing to complain about; Bralen Trice went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick74
Rnd3
Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul at the 74th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick75
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick111
Rnd4
Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at the 111th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick123
Rnd4
Malik Washington
Malik Washington at Round 4, Pick 23 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick143
Rnd5
Keith Randolph Jr.
A conviction pick on Keith Randolph Jr. at No. 143 that the board grades a round light. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick241
Rnd7
Jase McClellan
Jase McClellan at No. 241 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
