Draft Grade — Bears

FutureB-
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D-. Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Bears, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.
The whole projection now runs through Caleb Williams; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Limmer pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
The Thomas Jr. pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In pick No. 1 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick9
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
In the Round 1 slot they get a problem off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick52
Rnd2
Brian Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. in No. 52 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Pick75
Rnd3
Blake Corum
A tidy little value on Blake Corum in Round 3, Pick 11, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick84
Rnd3
Junior Colson
Junior Colson in pick 84 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick111
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Blake Fisher in slot 111. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick120
Rnd4
Malik Washington
Malik Washington in the 120th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick121
Rnd4
Tyrice Knight
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tyrice Knight in the 121st overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick123
Rnd4
Beaux Limmer
Value said wait; Beaux Limmer in the 123rd pick says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick143
Rnd5
Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop is a better player than pick 143 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor need, but a need all the same.
