The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bears shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it.

They are betting Abrams-Draine proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The Bishop pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
