Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B
ValueB+
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Bears checked most of the boxes and earned a B. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Bears left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The Harmon value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
In slot 10 they get a featured back, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39
Rnd2
Derrick Harmon
A quiet steal in the 39th overall pick: Derrick Harmon for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick41
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
They took Jihaad Campbell at par in No. 41, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick72
Rnd3
Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond at Round 3, Pick 8 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
