Grand theft in Round 7, Pick 34: the Bears steal Fitzgerald and grade out a A-. The rest of the league will want that one back. Ryan Fitzgerald tumbling to the Bears in pick 252 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will need Webb to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The Bears clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
In the end it comes back to Mykel Williams, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
