Draft Grade — Seahawks

The phones sank the Seahawks this weekend: D. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Seahawks did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Corley.
The Seahawks paired the rookies with proven help, Kyle Juszczyk leading the way.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Taliese Fuaga
In Round 1, Pick 17 they get a cornerstone up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick78
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in the 78th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick89
Rnd3
Spencer Rattler
By-the-book stuff, Spencer Rattler at pick No. 89 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick94
Rnd3
Malachi Corley
Malachi Corley is a better player than the 94th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick118
Rnd4
Justin Eboigbe
Justin Eboigbe at slot 118 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick126
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
They paid sticker price for Tommy Eichenberg in the Round 4 slot, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick154
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
Nothing to complain about; Jaylin Simpson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick194
Rnd6
Josh Proctor
Fair-plus on Josh Proctor, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick236
Rnd7
Blake Watson
The board had Blake Watson higher than slot 236, and the running back fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
