NEAC DRAFTING FOR THEPackers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Packers: B. Every other box got a look, but edge rusher did not. The Packers will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
However the rest shakes out, Bech at that price is a win they earned. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
In pick No. 23 they get a potential shutdown corner at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick54
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins at pick 54 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick87
Rnd3
Jack Bech
Jack Bech slid further than he should have, and the 87th overall pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick123
Rnd4
O'Donnell Fortune
O'Donnell Fortune in Round 4, Pick 22 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick160
Rnd5
Logan Brown
Good price on Logan Brown in slot 160, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
