FutureB-
The Packers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B. The Keyon Ware-Hudson selection is the head-turner. The Packers reached 41 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
However the rest shakes out, Haulcy at that price is a win they earned. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick63
Rnd2
Chris Johnson
Circle this one: Chris Johnson at pick No. 63 is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick84
Rnd3
Blake Miller
Steal is underselling it; Blake Miller at the Round 3 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
Pick85
Rnd3
A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy at No. 85 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick120
Rnd4
Tim Keenan III
They reached into another round for Tim Keenan III, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick123
Rnd4
Tacario Davis
A tidy little value on Tacario Davis in Round 4, Pick 23, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick125
Rnd4
Beau Stephens
The board had cheaper options than Beau Stephens at the 125th overall pick, and it noticed. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick128
Rnd4
Jaishawn Barham
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jaishawn Barham in the Round 4 slot. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick158
Rnd5
Sam Roush
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Sam Roush. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick199
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
A premium they did not need to pay, Trey Zuhn III a notch or two before his time. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick236
Rnd7
Brett Norfleet
Brett Norfleet in pick No. 236 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick254
Rnd7
Keyon Ware-Hudson
Keyon Ware-Hudson in pick 254 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick257
Rnd7
London Humphreys
They read the board right and London Humphreys was the payoff at the 257th pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
