CrazyLegs DRAFTING FOR THEBills
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Bills: B-. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Bills did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to linebacker, which was the need that mattered most. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
However the rest shakes out, Thieneman at that price is a win they earned. Branch has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the linebacker spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Kayden McDonald
In Round 1, Pick 26 they get a wrecking ball inside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman at pick 60 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick91
Rnd3
Zachariah Branch
The board had cheaper options than Zachariah Branch at No. 91, and it noticed. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick126
Rnd4
Max Iheanachor
They paid up for Max Iheanachor at slot 126 when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick166
Rnd5
Bud Clark
A reach for Bud Clark in the 166th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick220
Rnd7
Dominic Zvada
Dominic Zvada at the 220th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick228
Rnd7
Jalen Catalon
Jalen Catalon at the Round 7 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
