Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall C
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesD FutureD
The Falcons found their guy under center in Daniels: C.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Falcons' quarterback, full stop. It washes out to a C, no better and no worse.

Jones has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Hit on Jayden Daniels and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In the 8th pick they get a passer to set the clock by. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick35 Rnd2 JT Tuimoloau
JT Tuimoloau at slot 35 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
Pick43 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
Xavier Legette at pick 43 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick66 Rnd3 Edgerrin Cooper
A clean, defensible pick in Round 3, Pick 2 with a little surplus value in Edgerrin Cooper. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick74 Rnd3 D.J. James
A tidy little value on D.J. James in the Round 3 slot, a step better than break-even. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick104 Rnd4 Marshawn Kneeland
They took Marshawn Kneeland at par in pick No. 104, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick109 Rnd4 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at the 109th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick145 Rnd5 Darius Robinson
A reach for Darius Robinson in No. 145; a little patience would have been rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick189 Rnd6 Christian Jones
Christian Jones at slot 189 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick205 Rnd6 J.J. Weaver
A wild overpay on J.J. Weaver in the Round 6 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick248 Rnd7 Jayson Jones
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jayson Jones well ahead of where he belonged. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
