Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall D
ValueC+ NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Ravens lost the trade table, and the D tells the story.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Oronde Gadsden II at Round 4, Pick 27 is 65 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.

The Thornton Jr. pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Malaki Starks
In the 27th pick they get a ballhawk on the back end at fair value. More want than need.
Pick47 Rnd2 Landon Jackson
Good price on Landon Jackson in the Round 2 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick59 Rnd2 Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston at pick No. 59 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick91 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
A slide stopped in No. 91, with Barrett Carter worth more than the price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick129 Rnd4 Oronde Gadsden II
This one needs a full-page explanation: Oronde Gadsden II in the 129th overall pick, miles early. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick183 Rnd6 Connor Colby
Connor Colby at pick 183 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick203 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 203rd pick is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick210 Rnd6 Cam Jackson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Cam Jackson this early at slot 210. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick212 Rnd6 John Williams
John Williams in No. 212 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick243 Rnd7 Hayden Conner
They reached a country mile for Hayden Conner at pick No. 243, and the board is aghast. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
