Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B
ValueB+

TradesB-
FutureB-
The Chiefs robbed the room for McDonald. Final grade: B. There is a lot to like until you notice wide receiver is still a hole. The Chiefs never got to the one that mattered most. No fireworks, but a solid B.
On value alone, McDonald makes the weekend a net positive. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In the 9th pick they get an every-down engine for the run game. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
Kayden McDonald
They barely believed it either: Kayden McDonald still on the board at Round 2, Pick 8. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick74
Rnd3
Gabe Jacas
Gabe Jacas slipping to No. 74 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick109
Rnd4
Treydan Stukes
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Treydan Stukes at the Round 4 slot. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick146
Rnd5
Beau Stephens
Beau Stephens in slot 146 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick176
Rnd5
Kaleb Proctor
A clean, defensible pick in the 176th overall pick with a little surplus value in Kaleb Proctor. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
