Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Chiefs, and a B to prove it.

The Garrett Dellinger selection is the head-turner. The Chiefs reached 43 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The Hunter pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Matthew Golden
In pick 31 they get a difference-maker at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick63 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
Taking Jihaad Campbell in No. 63 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. It fills a real need, too.
Pick66 Rnd3 Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins slid further than he should have, and pick No. 66 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick95 Rnd3 Wyatt Milum
Wyatt Milum at the Round 3 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick133 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
They liked Malachi Moore enough to skip the value, taking him in the 133rd overall pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick226 Rnd7 Jarquez Hunter
Jarquez Hunter at the 226th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick251 Rnd7 Marcus Yarns
Marcus Yarns at pick 251 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick257 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
They reached a country mile for Garrett Dellinger at No. 257, and the board is aghast. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
