Draft Grade — Packers
Overall C+
ValueD+ NeedB+ TradesC FutureB-
Some hits, some head-scratchers, and a C+ for the Packers.

The Packers torched the value chart for Alton McCaskill, taking him 190 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.

However the rest shakes out, Endries at that price is a win they earned. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.

Pick Analysis
Pick83 Rnd3 Caleb Banks
A edge rusher of that caliber at the 83rd pick is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick85 Rnd3 Miller Moss
Miller Moss at slot 85 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick121 Rnd4 Xavier Chaplin
Xavier Chaplin at the Round 4 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick160 Rnd5 Bray Hubbard
Bray Hubbard in the 160th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick202 Rnd6 Christian Gray
A big swing on Christian Gray at No. 202, well ahead of any board in the building. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick237 Rnd7 Kamran James
This one needs a full-page explanation: Kamran James in Round 7, Pick 21, miles early. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick253 Rnd7 Jack Endries
Jack Endries at Round 7, Pick 37 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick256 Rnd7 Alton McCaskill
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Alton McCaskill. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
