Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall C+
ValueC- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A weekend that raised as many questions as it answered. The Cowboys get a C+.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cowboys reached some 355 spots for Ethan Calvert, and value like that does not grow back. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C+.

The Branch value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and offensive lineman is somehow still a want. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Peter Woods
In pick No. 12 they get juice off the edge. Need was not the driver here.
Pick20 Rnd1 KC Concepcion
KC Concepcion in Round 1, Pick 20 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick112 Rnd4 Ethan Calvert
They reached a country mile for Ethan Calvert at the 112th overall pick, and the board is aghast. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick150 Rnd5 Zachariah Branch
Steal is underselling it; Zachariah Branch at the 150th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick177 Rnd5 Chris Hilton Jr.
A big swing on Chris Hilton Jr. at pick 177, well ahead of any board in the building. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick215 Rnd6 Toriano Pride Jr.
The board had Toriano Pride Jr. higher than slot 215, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick221 Rnd7 Isaiah Nwokobia
Isaiah Nwokobia at the 221st overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick225 Rnd7 Andre Fuller
Andre Fuller in Round 7, Pick 9 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
