Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall

Best value of the weekend goes to the Commanders for Johnson: B. When a board-topper like Emmett Johnson slides to the 185th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Commanders did not.
Every board in the league had Randall lower, and that gap is the story. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Jermod McCoy
In the 7th overall pick they get a press-man option on the boundary. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick71
Rnd3
Germie Bernard
Germie Bernard at pick 71 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick145
Rnd5
Bishop Fitzgerald
Bishop Fitzgerald in the 145th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick185
Rnd6
Emmett Johnson
Emmett Johnson at Round 6, Pick 6 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It fills a real need, too.
Pick196
Rnd6
Adam Randall
Adam Randall at pick No. 196 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick223
Rnd7
Jalen Huskey
Jalen Huskey in the Round 7 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
