Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall B
ValueB NeedB- TradesC+ FutureB+
A solid, sensible weekend for the Falcons: B.

Some picks age like wine; Shaun Dolac at pick No. 242 will need to, sitting 97 spots clear of his grade. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

Wells Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Jalon Walker
In No. 27 they get a three-down second-level presence at fair value.
Pick46 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks in the 46th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick63 Rnd2 Cameron Williams
By-the-book stuff, Cameron Williams at Round 2, Pick 31 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick118 Rnd4 Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander at the Round 4 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick137 Rnd4 Kobe King
Kobe King at the 137th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It fills a real need, too.
Pick218 Rnd7 Antwane Wells Jr.
They robbed the room for Antwane Wells Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick223 Rnd7 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey in the 223rd pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick234 Rnd7 Dante Trader Jr.
Dante Trader Jr. at the 234th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick242 Rnd7 Shaun Dolac
A wild overpay on Shaun Dolac in slot 242, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick243 Rnd7 Warren Brinson
This one needs a full-page explanation: Warren Brinson in pick 243, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
