Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Falcons. There is reaching, and then there is Kyren Lacy at Round 7, Pick 26. The Falcons jumped the board by 49 and dared it to prove them wrong. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
Landing Starks that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Jalon Walker
In the Round 1 slot they get the heartbeat of the defense at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick46
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
They barely believed it either: Malaki Starks still on the board at the 46th overall pick. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick51
Rnd2
Donovan Ezeiruaku
A straight-up fair deal on Donovan Ezeiruaku at pick 51, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick118
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson at pick No. 118 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick197
Rnd6
Jaylen Reed
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jaylen Reed in slot 197. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick218
Rnd7
Kobe Hudson
Kobe Hudson at No. 218 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick242
Rnd7
Kyren Lacy
Value said wait; Kyren Lacy in the 242nd pick says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
