AlphaBoi DRAFTING FOR THEGiants
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Giants won the night they stopped Monangai from sliding. Grade: B. The board owed the Giants one, and it paid up: Kyle Monangai, the No. 194 name on the board, sitting there at pick 248 like a gift left on the doorstep. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The Ewers reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The back end got a real overhaul.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Travis Hunter. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick34
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
A tidy bit of business in the 34th pick, where Nick Emmanwori graded well above the range. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick65
Rnd3
Quinn Ewers
Quinn Ewers in the Round 3 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick104
Rnd4
Elic Ayomanor
Somehow Elic Ayomanor was still sitting there in slot 104, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick134
Rnd4
Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. in the 134th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick155
Rnd5
Mello Dotson
A cornerback of that caliber at pick No. 155 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick221
Rnd7
John Williams
John Williams at pick 221 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick248
Rnd7
Kyle Monangai
You do not let a running back like Kyle Monangai reach Round 7, Pick 30 and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
