The Bears let Williams fall and pounced. Final grade: B-.

You build a draft on nights like this. Kyle Williams had no business being available in the 235th overall pick, and the Bears did the only sane thing and turned in the card. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

They will need Zabel to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

In pick No. 10 they get an anchor for the offensive line, though the board says they badly overpaid. A real need, handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
They read the board right and Malaki Starks was the payoff at the Round 2 slot. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick41 Rnd2 Wyatt Milum
A reasonable price with a little left over, Wyatt Milum in slot 41. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.

A big swing on Dylan Fairchild at the 72nd overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It fills a real need, too.
