Grand theft in pick 255: the 49ers steal Jackson and grade out a B-.

Somebody in the 255th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The 49ers sat still while Cam Jackson, the No. 217 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

If Borregales pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. With quarterback and edge rusher unsolved, spending premium capital on specialist is the choice that costs them. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
