Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Penix Jr. is the plan now, and the Falcons grade out a B.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Michael Penix Jr. is the Falcons' quarterback, full stop.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. On value alone, Jones makes the weekend a net positive.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Michael Penix Jr.
In the 8th overall pick they get the face of the franchise. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick43 Rnd2 Adonai Mitchell
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Adonai Mitchell at the Round 2 slot is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick74 Rnd3 Caelen Carson
Caelen Carson at slot 74 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick109 Rnd4 Nelson Ceaser
No drama and no debate, Nelson Ceaser went about where he belonged in Round 4, Pick 9. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick145 Rnd5 Javion Cohen
By-the-book stuff, Javion Cohen at the 145th pick squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick189 Rnd6 Jaylen Harrell
They paid sticker price for Jaylen Harrell in pick No. 189, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick201 Rnd6 Christian Jones
Christian Jones at pick 201 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick244 Rnd7 Mark Perry
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Mark Perry in No. 244. It adds depth where they could use a little.
