Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Falcons. The Falcons looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Giles Jackson at the Round 7 slot regardless, 53 picks early. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
Moore falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Mike Green
In pick No. 25 they get a disruptor off the edge, reach and all.
Pick48
Rnd2
Trey Amos
Trey Amos in No. 48 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick86
Rnd3
Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore at slot 86 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick89
Rnd3
David Bailey
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for David Bailey. The roster fit checks out.
Pick118
Rnd4
Harold Perkins Jr.
They paid up for Harold Perkins Jr. at Round 4, Pick 17 when waiting would have done the job. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick179
Rnd6
Miles Frazier
They reached into another round for Miles Frazier, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick239
Rnd7
Giles Jackson
Giles Jackson at the 239th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
