A mixed bag for the Falcons, and a C to match. Nobody else had Mike Green anywhere near the 30th overall pick. The Falcons did, by 71 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Call it a C and check back in two years.
Moore at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Hit on Mike Green and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Mike Green
In the 30th pick they get juice off the edge, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Pick52
Rnd2
Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore in No. 52 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick60
Rnd2
Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. at pick 60 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It fills a real need, too.
Pick121
Rnd4
Omarr Norman-Lott
This one needs a full-page explanation: Omarr Norman-Lott in Round 4, Pick 20, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick230
Rnd7
Kyren Lacy
Kyren Lacy at the 230th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
