Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall F
ValueA- NeedB- TradesF FutureD-
The Falcons cashed the board's mistake on Harris: F.

The Falcons did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Tre Harris fell into slot 242. About as rough as the board gets, and a F to prove it.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

There is no soft landing here: they fought the board and left quarterback open, and the grade is the bill.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Jalon Walker
In the Round 1 slot they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. A real need, handled.
Pick33 Rnd2 Mike Green
They took Mike Green at par in slot 33, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick37 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks at pick 37 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick46 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
Somehow Kenneth Grant was still sitting there in Round 2, Pick 14, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick49 Rnd2 Walter Nolen
Walter Nolen at the 49th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jihaad Campbell
They robbed the room for Jihaad Campbell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick94 Rnd3 Jahdae Barron
A cornerback of that caliber at the 94th pick is the definition of value, full stop. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick102 Rnd4 Ashton Jeanty
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Ashton Jeanty in pick No. 102, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick163 Rnd5 Jake Majors
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jake Majors reach the 163rd overall pick and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick216 Rnd6 Trey Amos
Trey Amos in Round 6, Pick 41 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick242 Rnd7 Tre Harris
They will replay Tre Harris at the 242nd pick for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
