The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Falcons reached some 43 spots for Michael Pratt, and value like that does not grow back. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver.

Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
