Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall C+
ValueC NeedB TradesA FutureF
Flashes of a plan, unevenly run, for the Falcons: C+.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Falcons reached some 141 spots for Agiye Hall, and value like that does not grow back. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C+ in the wash.

The Sauls value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Spending an early pick on specialist with quarterback, running back and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Tetairoa McMillan
In No. 15 they get a difference-maker at receiver, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick46 Rnd2 Charles Grant
Value said wait; Charles Grant in the 46th overall pick says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick62 Rnd2 Dominic Zvada
A surprising call. With quarterback, running back and other spots still to address, they spent pick No. 62 on Dominic Zvada, a specialist they were not short of.
Pick109 Rnd4 Mello Dotson
A big swing on Mello Dotson at slot 109, well ahead of any board in the building. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick116 Rnd4 Ahmed Hassanein
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ahmed Hassanein. The roster fit checks out.
Pick139 Rnd5 Rylie Mills
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Rylie Mills at pick 139. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick162 Rnd5 Jake Majors
Jake Majors in slot 162 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick243 Rnd7 Ben Sauls
You do not let a specialist like Ben Sauls reach the 243rd overall pick and blink. They did not. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick249 Rnd7 Jason Henderson
Jason Henderson at No. 249 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It fills a real need, too.
Pick251 Rnd7 Alijah Clark
Alijah Clark slipping to pick 251 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick254 Rnd7 Joey Slackman
Joey Slackman at Round 7, Pick 38 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick255 Rnd7 Steven Parker
They left a pile of value on the table to take Steven Parker this early at pick No. 255. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick256 Rnd7 Agiye Hall
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Agiye Hall well ahead of where he belonged. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
