Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall C+
ValueD+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A weekend that raised as many questions as it answered. The Falcons get a C+.

You can hear the double-takes from here. The Falcons took Zion Logue at the Round 6 slot, roughly 99 spots before his name belonged.

They punted on offensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In slot 8 they get a problem off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Mike Sainristil
They reached a country mile for Mike Sainristil at the Round 2 slot, and the board is aghast. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick74 Rnd3 Spencer Rattler
Value said wait; Spencer Rattler in the 74th pick says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick79 Rnd3 Tykee Smith
They reached into another round for Tykee Smith, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick109 Rnd4 Mekhi Wingo
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Mekhi Wingo. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick143 Rnd5 Joe Milton III
They talked themselves into Joe Milton III at No. 143, and the board did not agree. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick187 Rnd6 Zion Logue
Zion Logue at pick No. 187 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick197 Rnd6 Jaylen Harrell
A reach on Jaylen Harrell in Round 6, Pick 22; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
