They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Joe Milton III, 33 picks early at Round 5, Pick 31. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
