JTye420 DRAFTING FOR THEFalcons
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall
B
ValueB+
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Falcons, and a B to prove it. The Falcons clearly saw something nobody else did in Michael Pratt, taking him 31 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Spending an early pick on cornerback with interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
That Arnold pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In slot 8 they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick43
Rnd2
Terrion Arnold
Terrion Arnold in Round 2, Pick 11 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick74
Rnd3
Kiran Amegadjie
A slide stopped in the 74th pick, with Kiran Amegadjie worth more than the price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick79
Rnd3
Kris Abrams-Draine
A curious use of the Round 3 slot. Interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots needed the pick; a cornerback in Kris Abrams-Draine did not.
Pick109
Rnd4
Michael Pratt
Value said wait; Michael Pratt in the 109th overall pick says they were not listening. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick143
Rnd5
Roger Rosengarten
A tidy bit of business in pick 143, where Roger Rosengarten graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick197
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
They paid sticker price for Joe Milton III in the 197th overall pick, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
