FutureB
A franchise passer in Daniels headlines a B weekend for the Falcons. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Falcons were there to profit. Keon Coleman, the No. 36 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 96th overall pick. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Reaching for Hall left real value on the table behind him.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In the 8th overall pick they get the face of the franchise at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick43
Rnd2
Ladd McConkey
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Ladd McConkey at Round 2, Pick 11 is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick78
Rnd3
Xavier Worthy
The board fumbled Xavier Worthy all the way to Round 3, Pick 14, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick96
Rnd3
Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman at No. 96 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick110
Rnd4
Dominick Puni
Taking Dominick Puni in slot 110 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick119
Rnd4
James Williams
James Williams at pick 119 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick142
Rnd5
Javon Foster
Javon Foster in the 142nd pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick199
Rnd6
Gabe Hall
The board had cheaper options than Gabe Hall at the Round 6 slot, and it noticed. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
